Four hours on the water gets you Shelter Island. Eight hours gets you the whole East End. A full-day charter with Charters in The Hamptons runs 8 hours with a USCG-licensed captain at the helm. You set the pace. We handle the boat, the route, and the timing.
We are a family-run charter operation based on Shelter Island, right between the North and South Forks. Our captains, Mike and JT, earned their USCG licenses in 2019 and have run more than 200 charters since. If you have less time, our half-day charter covers the same waters in a tighter 4-hour window.
Where a full day can take you
An 8-hour charter changes what is possible. Short trips stay close to home. A full day opens up the far ends of the East End map.
Montauk. On a calm day, cruise past Sag Harbor and along the South Fork to The End. See the lighthouse from the water, then dock at Montauk Harbor for lunch before the run home. See our Montauk charter page for the destination itself.
Fishers Island. There is no direct public ferry to Fishers Island from Long Island. The public ferry runs from New London, Connecticut. A full-day charter is one of the few ways to see the island and get back in the same day.
The full Twin Forks loop. Greenport, Dering Harbor, Sag Harbor, and the bay beaches between them. A half day forces you to pick. A full day lets you see all of it.
The one-day trip other charters cannot run
Here is the itinerary our guests talk about most. Morning cruise across Peconic Bay to Greenport for North Fork wine tasting. Afternoon swim or sandbar stop. Then across the bay to Sag Harbor for dinner near the wharf. One boat, one day, both forks.
Most Hamptons charter boats start from the South Fork. They spend the first stretch of your day just getting to the middle. Our home dock sits on Shelter Island, in the center of it all, so your 8 hours go to the good parts. Read more on our North Fork winery cruise page.
How the day works
You bring your group, food, and drinks. A cooler is welcome. We provide USCG life jackets for everyone on board. Pickup is available at Greenport on the North Fork and Sag Harbor on the South Fork, so you can skip the ferry line.
Want to stop for lunch by boat? Transient docking at East End restaurants is first come, first served. Your captain knows which docks turn over fast and times the day around it. That local timing is half the value of a captained trip. See our dock and dine charter for how those stops work.

Anglers can pair cruising with fishing through our fishing charters. Our captained charters carry up to six passengers, the USCG limit for uninspected vessels.

Can we bring our own food and alcohol? You can bring your own food and drinks, and a cooler is welcome. Many groups pack lunch for a beach stop and plan dinner at a dock-up restaurant.
Is the captain included? Yes. Every charter includes a USCG-licensed captain. No boating license or experience is needed on your end.
